Eric M. Froats recently prevailed in several consolidated actions before the Michigan Court of Appeals. Mr. Froats represented a local fiduciary who was serving as a guardian and trustee in several probate court matters. A family member who was an interested party in the matters appealed numerous orders the probate court issued in favor of the fiduciary. In an unpublished opinion on August 18, 2022, the Michigan Court of Appeals affirmed several of the probate court’s orders which included allowing the fiduciary’s first accounting, reinstating the fiduciary as trustee, and granting a petition allowing attorney fees and costs.
